Flat Boys

This ongoing series of garments pushes against the stubbornness of American masculinity - one that is oppressively dominant and inflexible. The tailored shirt is the uniform for white collar masculinity, and this series warps their traditional forms as a method of queering them. I keep many of the details familiar - such as the collar, plackets, cuffs, and buttons - but render them non-functional in the warping process. I bring these garments into the world as tangible objects to exude a combination of silliness and irreverence.
